Stories From The Heart - Natassia Fifer

In my opinion, Poetry has to be one of the most therapeutic ways of expressing what’s in your heart. What makes a poet great is the ability to put everything he or she is feeling in words. I believe when a poet is completely honest it shows in their work. From dealing with heartache, lust, possibility of love, and even a short poem about Lebron James… this book has it all.

Nastassia S. Fifer does an excellent job of bringing her words alive in print. The beauty of poetry is you can interpret one poem in so many ways. Even if you aren’t a fan of poetry, I guarantee you will read this book and fall in love. I can’t wait to read more from this author.

After reading this book, I was inspired to share a story of a past experience that I had kept to myself for so many years. That’s what great poetry does… it inspires you to be Truthful to yourself.

Thank You Nastassia.

Painted Jezebel - Jolie Pethrel

Publicist Finn Mackenzie has always been lucky, until an ill-fated affair with a vindictive writer leaves him one chance for redemption: a spectacular public appearance by the elusive best-selling romance author, Jezebel Jinx.

Unfortunately, the cute but kooky writer refuses to cooperate. Jezebel believes she’s cursed with bad luck. Riddled with anxieties, she never leaves her home— until the gorgeous, albeit desperate Finn whisks her away to a writer’s conference, against her will.

After the initial shock wears off, Jezebel’s dormant hormones kick into high gear around the hunky Finn.
When his ex turns up murdered and Jezebel is the prime suspect, ill-planned sexcapades are the least of their worries.  - Amazon

Review

From the first chapter until the end, Author Pethrel captured my attention.  As I progressed through the book, I wanted to continue reading to find out what happens to Jezebel Jinx.   Jinx is an author who would rather keep to herself than attend book promotions or conferences.   Jinx enjoys the simple things in life.   However, her publisher wants her to attend this particular conference.  Jinx is tricked by answering the door and meeting a handsome publisher, Finn McKenzie.  She has no idea his assignment is to make sure she attends this conference by any means necessary including kidnapping her.

It was very intriguing and suspenseful to see how Jinx would attend all of the planned events surrounding the conference.   While attending the conference, she is accused of murdering another author who had previously been married to Finn McKenzie.   This also brought up unfinished business from the past because Jinx’ boyfriend was killed years ago.  The investigating police officer blamed her for the death of his brother which is why Jinx initially went into seclusion.  The identity of the killer was definitely a surprise.

Author Pethrel’s well-developed character analysis and plot made the book even more interesting.   I could actually envision the different events and actions of the characters.  This book takes you on a journey through love and murder.  Very well written book and I look forward to reading the sequel.

Vanished - Joseph Finder

Nick Heller, International Corporate Security Expert is the guy you call when you want to know where the bodies are buried. While investigating a case that involves stolen money, Nick receives a frantic call from his nephew, Gabe. Gabe informs Nick that his mother was attacked and his father, Roger (Nick's brother) has vanished without a trace. Nick heads to Washington D.C to put the missing pieces together about his brother's disappearance.

Nothing is EVER what it appears to be in this Joseph Finder novel.

This story starts off fast paced and it continues throughout the whole book. I love this author's style of writing; he breathes life and soul into these characters. This story had so many layers that I gave up trying to figure out the ending. I paused several times while reading this book because I didn't want it to end.
