The Devil's Legacy - Tom Jackson
The Devil's Legacy is an interesting book. Tom Jackson gives a very detailed account of what actually happened to the Marbles as well as the various events and characters. There were a lot of twists and turns and what if scenarios.
Jackson kept you guessing and just when you thought you could predict the outcome - something else happened. If you enjoy history, then this book is a good one to add to your collection.
The only drawback was there may have been too many events and/or characters- the Titanic, Napoleon Bonaparte, and Jack the Ripper (to name just a few, and there were several more) - because all of these things are highly unlike to occur at the same time. With all of the different locations, events, and characters, it at times made the story unbelievable.
However, the ending was very intriguing and suspenseful.

What if you had a chance to rekindle with the one who got away? Butterfly has loved Ethan Roberts since she was 13 years old. Flash-forward several years, though their lives have taken different paths, they seem to keep crossing each other.
Butterfly has followed her dream giving up her government job and opening a flower boutique. Ethan has become a preacher of a prominent church. Both are in loveless marriages. Butterfly has a husband, Zeke, who clearly is only there for the meals and laundry service. Ethan becomes the shoulder for Butterfly lean on and gives compliments that should have been from her husband. Each has their lives, but steals away for that “little piece of happiness”.
Throughout the book, I found myself rooting for these two. Even though these two are not having a physical affair, they were still emotionally connected to someone that was not their spouse. Butterfly’s husband, Zeke was so self-centered that you wanted Butterfly to just walk away and get her happiness.

Vanessa Davis Griggs’ emotional tale will draw you in. Mrs. Davis’ tale of a decade long affair is not the traditional story usually associated with an affair. It is a beautiful written story of sadness and redemption.

Bumped - Sibylla Nash
Sibylla Nash’s, Bumped, takes its readers through the life turning events of Elle, the “successful” publicist that lives beyond her means, as she battles heartbreak, confusion, accusations and a new beginning. Elle must determine reality through her biased perspective of what true love really means. Her faith, trust and character is tested and ultimately she has to decide whether or not she will exceed expectations or fold under the pressure.
I loved this book! The wording was engaging, allowing me to expand my thought process and vocabulary and I truly enjoyed it. Elle’s character made me realize how true love can simply be a figment of the imagination. I was silently cheering for Elle to succeed and establish herself worth outside of a paycheck, glitz, glamour and false love. I’m not a fan of sequels, but I would thoroughly enjoy knowing what happens with her and her new beginning.
Overall, I rate the book a 5 because I was genuinely pleased and I’m eager to read more work from this author.

The Stalker Chronicles - Electa Rome Parks
Pilar is back and she has revenge on her mind. It’s been a couple of years since Pilar and Xavier has seen each other face to face, but that doesn’t mean Pilar was far away. She has tracked his every move, even going as far as breaking into his home to watch him sleep. No one is safe from Pilar… and I mean NOONE!!
Xavier is riding high off the success of his Blockbuster movie, Diary of A Stalker, but can’t seem to shake his past experiences with Pilar. When strange occurrences starts happening to the people closest to him; Xavier begins to worry that Pilar has a found a way to sneak back into his life.
In this sequel, the readers are given more details about Pilar’s childhood and the trauma she had to endure by the hands of a family member. If you thought you knew what Pilar was capable of…. think again.
I can always count on Electa Rome Parks to deliver a fast paced, entertaining, suspenseful page-turner. I always believed we all have a little “Pilar” in us, even if we aren’t brave enough to admit it. That’s why I always say Pilar is misunderstood, but after reading this selection I’m leaning more towards CRAZY.
I highly recommend this book.
